The Road to Innsmouth is an immersive, multimedia puzzle-solving experience, combining collectible artifacts with digital gameplay to tell the story of Stella Clark's mysterious journey into the heart of Innsmouth. Players step into the shoes of Stella Clark in this point and click escape experience on their favorite web browser.

What is the difference between the Deluxe and Play Anytime versions?

The Deluxe version has collectible artifacts that mimic some of the in-game items and can help with gameplay. This version also allows for repeated playthroughs of the game.

The Play Anytime version is a digital-only game with a one-time playthrough.

What is included in the Deluxe Edition?

The Deluxe version contains: Gilman House Hotel Key and Key Fob, Strange Membership Card, Metal Coin, Curious Postcard, Full Color Poster, Aged Bookmark, Mysterious Map, Worn Ticket, and 1 Ancient Totem

How is the game played?

Each player or players will copy and paste the link into their favorite internet browser. Using the computer cursor, they will interact in this "point and click" game to solve puzzles and navigate Innsmouth

How long is the game?

2+ hours depending on experience level. The average game is about 3.5 hours

How do I save my progress?

The game will autosave wherever you are when you close your tab/browser window. We recommend that all players close the game tab whenever you step away from the game for an extended period (this will keep your in-game timer accurate and improve future load times).

Will I need anything not included in the Deluxe Edition?

We recommend a pencil and paper

Can I replay the game?

The Deluxe Edition allows for repeat plays, however the game itself won't change. It is fun to experience again with others who haven't played, putting yourself into a GM role as you guide them through their adventure in Innsmouth.

On which platforms is The Road to Innsmouth available?

PC and Mac

Can I play this on a tablet/touchscreen or do I need a desktop or laptop?

The Road to Innsmouth does not support touch input. You will need to play this on a desktop or laptop device

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes, you will need a stable internet connection

What is the recommended browser?

For optimal performance, we recommend Google Chrome for both PC and Mac

Do we need to close all unneeded tabs?

It is recommended to close all unnecessary tabs not related to the game during play to help with load times

Can multiple people play in the same game on separate devices?

Yes, have each person paste the link into their individual browser at the same time. Keep in mind that the game will save once everyone has closed their browsers.

Can we share a computer?

Yes, some people like to cast the game to a TV and play as a group on one machine.

What is the best way to experience the game?

With a large screen computer and headphones

Is the game accessible for people with color blindness?

Yes, any puzzles that are color based have a way to solve them without the colors

Is it accessible for people who are hard of hearing?

Yes, there are no sound-based puzzles and we have subtitles in most instances

Is it accessible for people with visual impairments?

Most of the puzzles are visually based, but we recommend pairing up and experiencing the fun together
